The display provides instant energy saving tips based on your own use patterns and comparisons with other energy users in a similarly sized family, regionwide. A further feature is the ability to set warnings when energy consumption approaches a self-selected budget or Co2 target.
The most compelling feature of the system though, is financial. The ability to switch energy providers seamlessly and benefit from cheaper deals as soon as they are available. No more crawling through websites to find the cheapest deal - the display will find it for you and ask you if you want to switch !
Money saving energy-related offers beamed directly to your display, will also help reduce overall energy costs.
Pay as you Go utility customers, will be able to pay for their power from the comfort of their own home, completely commission-free, using the display’s secure payment terminal function.
We’re excited about our meters too. Completely new and very smart. Our electric meter (above) can talk to us, it can talk to you and it can talk to your energy provider. Want an alert when the lights go on or you’ve forgotten to close a window or door when you’ve gone out ? Your electric meter will tell you ! (A subscription to U-Safetm may be required).
Our gas meter (below) will even turn off the gas when your U-Scopetm carbon monoxide/fire detector is activated - how smart is that! And a potential life saver.
We’re designing further Plug-and-Play products for the U-Scopetm range in time for launch in early 2009. U-Safetm, our home security network will be launched in the middle of 2009 and towards the end, U-Welltm, our mass market tele-care products hit the market.
